Our School

by the Headteacher                        Mr. B.J. Brennan

St. Bernard's R.C. Primary School is an established school opened in 1971 to serve the parish of St. Bernard. It is a one form entry school able to accommodate 210 children. The school population in September 2000 will be 208. As there are seven classes in school this means each class will average 30 pupils per class.

St. Bernard's School is a living Christian community. It's strengths are based on the relationships that exist within the school, between the school and parish and between school and parents. The Christian message is, and must remain, central to all our lives in school if we are to achieve our
Mission Statement and provide for our children the best possible start to their lives.

St. Bernard's gives a good education to it's pupils. We have been coming to this school for six years and the teachers here are great. The school is safe and friendly. There are also a lot of after school clubs. We enjoy coming here very much.
